"If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity, nothing else matters" (Sen. Alan Simpson).
Born and raised in Batavia, Illinois, I learned from an early age the value of hard work and the importance of family and friends. It was also during my childhood that I came to appreciate my teachers and my education as well.
After graduating from Batavia High School, I gained Undergraduate Degrees in both History and Secondary Education from Aurora University. After teaching for ten years, I gained my Master’s in Educational Administration from Iowa State University.
I bring unique experiences to Oskaloosa Middle School, as I have taught in every type of educational setting possible, including; the west side of Chicago, the western suburbs of Chicago, and rural Iowa. I have concluded after working in each of these educational settings that all students can learn and have the ability to make a difference in the world that they live in. Showing an interest in students’ lives and making an effort to understand them as people and learners are the keys to unlocking their ability to learn and be successful.
I am very excited to be a part of the Oskaloosa Community School District and want to do everything I can to make students' experiences with us positive and meaningful. I am happily married and have four wonderful sons. I enjoy spending time with my family and helping others. If there is anything I can do to make your child’s experience at the middle school better, please do not hesitate to ask.
